Position Summary:
Provide diagnostic polysomnography testing procedures and all additional components as they relate to sleep medicine.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Must hold credentials from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). Must possess a broad understanding of all aspects of sleep medicine. A registered polysomnography technologist has the knowledge to competently perform all tasks that are associated with the day and night shift operations as they pertain to polysomnography. For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential. Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the clinical field of polysomnography/scoring is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must be currently licensed in Polysomnography by the Tennessee Department of Health. Must be currently certified (or scheduled for certification or recertification training according to department guidelines) in CPR.
