Position Summary:

The Rehab Services Manager is responsible for daily operations, management and leadership of care or service delivery at patient care units or sites.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced clinical practice – including evaluation and specialized treatment of patients. Serves as clinical resource as needed.
  • Performs patient evaluations (initial, progress, and discharge evaluations), establishes treatment plans, makes recommendations, and sets goals in accordance with patient needs and evidence based practice.
  • Meets established targets for passive/active treatment ratios as applicable.
  • Involves patient and family in treatment, education and goal setting. Coordinates with other medical personnel regarding patient’s progress, needs and discharge planning.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and competency including providing for age-specific needs of the population served.
  • Development, implementation and evaluation of standards of care and evidence based practice:
  • Evidence base practice protocols
  • Clinical outcomes analysis and communication to team
  • New policy development and implementation
  • Process improvement/quality improvement
  • Facilitates and implements program development
  • Works with team members to establish, analyze, meet and communicate targets/outcomes:
      • Quality/outcome measures – clinic and/or individual
      • Service/patient satisfaction measures – clinic and/or individual
      • Financial/productivity measures – clinic and/or individual
      • Growth measures – clinic and/or individual.
      • People measures – clinic and/or individual
  • Promotes cultural change throughout the program to:
      • create an environment to optimize patient care
      • promote a shared vision
      • enable and empower staff to implement improvements
      • remove barriers that inhibit their achievement of goals
  • Assumes leadership, management, and clinical responsibility for the area.
  • Coordination of scheduling taking into account patient needs, workload, and skills/competency of team members.
      • Maintains and updates patient documentation in accordance with professional, departmental, organizational, and payer guidelines and timeframes. Maintains established targets for compliance with chart audits
      • Develops and mentors staff - including collaboration with the Director to identify and meet educational/ orientation needs of team members.
      • Maintains flow of information needed for team to be effective. Provides consistent, frequent feedback to team members regarding team performance related to established targets/outcomes.
      • Coordinates performance appraisals of staff.
      • Responds to customer service needs.
      • Assumes accountability for conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
      • Assumes accountability for payroll accuracy.
      • Develops and implements policies and procedures as necessary.
      • Adheres to and assures work group compliance with all standards of behavior and hospital/departmental policies and procedures (including regulatory compliance, safety, environmental, and infection control) in the performance of work duties.
  • Markets product as defined in the marketing plan, as well as community involvement as applicable.
  • Able to temporarily assume responsibilities of other Manager positions as needed.
  • Local travel required.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Physical, Occupational or Speech Therapist, Clinical Psychologist or CRRN with current TN license as applicable.

 

Minimum Experience:

four (4) years rehab experience.

 

Licensure Requirement:

Must have and maintain Tennessee license in above profession. Employee must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license and state mandated minimum insurance coverage. Driving record must meet Covenant Health minimum standards at the date of hire and throughout employment tenure.
