Position Summary: 

This position is responsible for coordinating and directing daily activities of the Neuro-Diagnostics department and Sleep Center.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates clinical proficiency and knowledge in procedures performed in END and Polysomnography.
  • Responsible for quality patient care in all Neurodiagnostics and Sleep functions.
  • Provides clinical assistance when necessary.
  • Develops and implements yearly quality plans.
  • Act as a liaison to patients and other customers to provide timely and accurate communication and problem resolution.
  • Monitors patient satisfaction with the program.
  • Assures daily operations are performed to include: staffing, scheduling of patients, interdisciplinary meetings, department statistics and record keeping, payroll, charges, and inventory.
  • Facilitate development of success measures, to include people, service, quality, finance and growth short and long term goals.
  • Maintains financial viability of service; monitors costs, revenue, patient charges, CPT codes and billing.
  • Develop, review and update department specific policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the completion of yearly operating and capital/small equipment budgets.
  • Oversees preventative maintenance of equipment in the lab.
  • Acts as the primary contact of vendors for product evaluation and recommendation.
  • Provides personnel management to include staff placement, discipline, interviewing and orientation in conjunction with the Director or VP.
  • Conducts staff meetings.
  • Evaluates performance of employees.
  • Implement and assess individual/team performance appraisal and career ladder.
  • Trains, organizes and implements orientation of staff.
  • Organizes and provides continuing educational opportunities for staff in the Neurodiagnostics and Sleep Center.
  • In conjunction with Director or VP serves as public relations liaison for neuroscience and sleep.
  • Acts as a liaison to neurologists and neurosurgeons and sleep medicine specialists to effectively coordinate procedures, scheduling and staffing.
  • Communicates with physicians on a regular basis to assess their level of satisfaction with the department.
  • Assists with the development and implementation marketing strategies.
  • Promote cultural change to develop and support the team approach to deliver patient care.
  • Supports creativity, independent thinking, empowerment and flexibility among team members.
  • Prepares department to meet accreditation standards of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
  • Monitor and maintain department compliance to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:                       

Associate's degree preferred.

 

Minimum Experience:                     

At least four (4) years clinical experience required

 

Licensure Requirement:                  

Registration by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnography Technologist (PSGT) and licensure by the state of Tennessee as per TCA 63-31-106 is required. Preference may be given to individuals who also hold registration from the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) as R. EEG T., R. EP T., CLTM or CNIM.
