Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System has 167 licensed beds and 23 emergency suites. The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women’s Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns. It serves an eight-county region in the Lakeway Area and is equipped with modern technologies and expert staff to provide the best possible patient care. Position Summary: 

Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating patient care in a nursing home facility. Operationally responsible for staff from various disciplines in multiple plan of the patient care continual and maintain the planning quality, and budgeting for each of their area. Position reports to the facility President and CAO.

Responsibilities

  • Directs overall planning and operations for the Nursing Home.
  • Serves as a member of the senior leadership team. Develops goals and objectives, and establishes implements policies and procedures for organization as a part of the team.
  • Works with other managers to continue to plan and effect changes that allow Covenant Health to be competitive in a changing healthcare market.
  • Markets the Nursing Home services through community involvement, presentation and networking.
  • Ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements.
  • Facilities effect operation by acting as liaison to other areas. Serves on committees and cros organization teams to integrate organizational objectives.
  • Maintains fiscal integrity and control.
  • Ensures efficient, economic and quality performance of assigned areas of responsibilities to support or provide quality health care services.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all residents. Establishing an environment where each resident is capable of achieving their highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well being.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all residents which may include reporting equipment that is out of order, suspicion of resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect and reporting of suspicion of criminal activities.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe environment for all residents which may include reporting to appropriate managerial staff equipment that is out of order, suspicion of resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect and reporting of suspicion of criminal activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:          

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health care administration, business, management or related field or equivalent combination of educational/managerial experience in related field.

 

Minimum Experience:         

Three (3) years managerial experience in LTC, skilled care preferred.

 

Licensure Requirement:      

Must have and maintain Tennessee Licensed Nursing Home Administrator or participation in the Tennessee Administrator-in-Training Program.
