Position Summary:
Responsible for creating and maintaining policies & procedures, development and monitoring of patient quality/safety processes resulting in overall quality of nursing care provided by the nursing staff. Works autonomously and confidentially. Advanced computer skills are a necessity. Responsible for identifying staff needs and foster the concept of patient centered care along with Managers and Educators.The primary role for this position will be Sepsis Coordinator, responsible for coordinating and improving sepsis care within the organization. This position is crucial in ensuring that the hospital adheres to the SEP-1 guidelines, which are essential for improving patient outcomes related to sepsis. The Sepsis Coordinator is responsible for a variety of tasks including chart and data abstraction, analysis and reporting, coordination of departmental functions, and processing improvement initiatives. They will also engage in physician and staff education to enhance understanding and compliance with sepsis protocols. The coordinator must embody multiple roles: clinician, leader, liaison, educator, researcher, consultant, and quality improvement specialist, all aimed at driving improvements in sepsis care and outcomes. They will collaborate with physicians, managers, and staff to maximize the quality and value of sepsis clinical care through accountability and the implementation of process improvements. This role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills to identify and present performance improvement opportunities.
This position will also be responsible for assisting with other hospital quality functions, such as monitoring and reporting data, and quality/peer review.
Recent hospital experience preferred, Emergency Department experience and sepsis knowledge strongly desired.

Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in nursing. Two (2) years previous supervisory experience required.
Licensure Requirement:
Must have current Tennessee nursing license.
