Position Summary: 

The Content and Editorial Specialist is responsible for crafting, refining, and reviewing written communications that support internal and external messaging priorities across Covenant Health. This role is a key contributor to the communications and marketing team, supporting consistent brand voice, clarity, and storytelling across digital, print, and internal platforms. The specialist partners with team members and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, accurate content that informs, engages, and reflects the mission and values of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread content for a variety of formats including newsletters, intranet articles, leadership messages, print collateral, press releases, and employee-facing communications.
  • Ensure content is grammatically correct, brand-aligned, and tailored to its audience and channel.
  • Serve as an editorial resource for the communications and marketing team, providing reviews and recommendations to improve clarity, consistency, and tone.
  • Support content development for internal campaigns, organizational announcements, and community-facing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with PR, marketing, and other departments to gather content inputs and align messaging priorities.
  • Maintain a consistent writing style that reflects the organization’s voice and enhances message impact.
  • Participate in content planning and contribute to editorial calendars and campaign messaging timelines.
  • Assist with repurposing or adapting content for various uses and formats, including email, social media, presentations, or speechwriting support.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:           

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field preferred.

 

Minimum Experience:         

Minimum 2–4 years of experience in writing, editing, or content development.
