Service Line Analyst, Clinical Quality

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

This position provides analytical, operational, and business insight support to the service line team.  Participates in various operational and clinical projects and workgroups to provide analytical support.  Functions as an integral resource to service line operational teams.   Identifies performance gaps and contributes to improvement and optimization.  Involves interaction with all levels of supervision and managers enterprise-wide, including senior executives.

Responsibilities

  • Employs advanced skills in data analytics and strong working ability in statistical analysis.
  • Analyzes and interprets complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement. Provides recommendations to CMO, along with service line consultants and other members of leadership.
  • Under the direction of the CMO and other subject matter expects, develops analyses to be used across Covenant to evaluate ongoing performance for well-focused opportunity identification.
  • Develops positive collaborative relationships with service line constituents including service line administrative leaders, physicians, and facility leadership resulting in well informed strategies and deployment of service line initiatives.
  • Design scorecards as an enterprise tool for evaluation and communication of strategic objectives that align with our mission and enterprise goals.
  • Prepares effective consultation reports and presentations and makes presentations to groups as needed, including system service line meetings, executive leadership, facility medical staff meetings, and operational teams to communicate key findings, opportunities, and service line goals.
  • Coordinates with Information Technology staff as needed to develop and optimize system-wide access and use of analytical data and information for service lines.
  • Attends professional/society/business meetings. Participates in in-house training and development activities including service on system-wide administrative and operational committees. Maintains a high degree of on-the-job developmental activities regarding system policies and administrative requirements.  Maintains professional growth through continuing education and attending workshops, seminars, conferences, and classes.
  • Maintains and communicates analysis standards for Covenant Health. Promotes the adoption of consistent practices enterprise wide. Communicates and guides business units on appropriate financial analysis standards to maintain consistency in financial reporting across business units.
  • Interacts with all business units and corporate executives on related duties.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:           

Bachelor’s degree required. Expectation of pursuing or currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business or Finance related discipline from an accredited academic program.  Preference may be given to individuals currently possessing a Master’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.

 

Minimum Experience:         

Minimum of four (4) years of Accounting, Finance, or related experience.
