Position Summary:

Responsible for daily clinical operations of cardiac procedures to include invasive and non-invasive procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for quality patient care in all Cath Lab and Cardiology functions.
  • Participates in equipment planning, staffing and uniformity of clinical cardiac services for Covenant Health.
  • In conjunction with OL, serves as a public relations liaison in dealing with scope of cardiology services availability and offerings.
  • Acts as a liaison to cardiologists to effectively coordinate procedures, scheduling and staffing between Cardiology and the Cath Lab.
  • Maintain and enhance expertise in Cardiology testing methods and procedures.
  • Promote cultural change to develop and support the team approach to deliver patient care in the Clinical Services division.
  • Facilitate development of success measures, to include leadership, facilitator and team member implementation of long and short term goals for department teams.
  • Develop, review and update department specific policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain department compliance to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Provide personnel management to include staff placement, discipline, interview and orientation in conjunction with OL.
  • Implement and assess individual/team performance appraisal and career ladder.
  • Assure daily operations are performed to include; staffing, interdisciplinary meetings, department statistics, payroll, charges, and inventory.
  • Assess capital equipment/supply needs and make recommendations.
  • Act as a liaison to patients and other customers to provide timely and accurate communication and problem resolution.
  • Act as a primary contact of vendors for product evaluation and recommendation.
  • Coordinate daily staffing plan based on workload and skill mix
  • Participate in development and implementation of education and in-service programs for staff, students and other departments.
  • Collaborate with others to determine product standardization as needed.
  • Maintain department and clinical functions through team based employee empowerment.
  • Supports creativity, independent thinking, empowerment and flexibility among team members.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

one specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. Associate's degree is required within three years of hire into position. Bachelor preferred.

 

Minimum Experience:

Four (4) years Cath Lab experience required. 

 

Licensure Requirement:

Must be a registered cardiovascular technologist, RN or registered radiology technologist.
