Clinic Office Supervisor, McNeeley Family Physicians

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

Supervise and coordinate day to day office activities of a service area(s). Areas of responsibility may include, accounts receivable, insurance, credit and collections, patient registration and personnel activities, etc. Directly responsible to Office Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety standards in assigned functional area(s).
  • Train and supervise assigned personnel. Interviews and recommends hiring and termination of personnel and offers input to annual evaluation.
  • Maintains adequate internal controls including, but not limited to, cash receipt systems and encounter form tracking.
  • Handles and resolves patient complaints, referring major ones to providers or manager as needed.
  • Assists with solving payment and business office problems.
  • Assists with refund and credit adjustments to patient accounts.
  • Prepare and send Office Managers request for purchases, repairs, supplies and equipment needs for office.
  • Arranges and assigns work for short and long range staffing in their assigned area.
  • Researches problems pertaining to equipment, staffing and renovations and recommends solutions.
  • Operates assigned area within budget constraints as possible.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Follows Studer principles including rounding and AIDET.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:           

High School Diploma or equivalent                                       

 

Minimum Experience:         

Requires basic understanding of general office procedures and general accounting principals.  Previous experience in medical office supervision.  Requires effective human relations and communication skills. Clinical experience is a plus.
