Department Overview:

Being a part of the Covenant Health Sports Medicine team means gaining a servant-leader who has a passion for growing and developing his team. Because our Athletic Trainers serve our high schools, community college, and sports tourism industry, we’ve created a team culture of supporting and learning from one another. Our team performs the only FDA approved concussion testing for athletes in the Sevier County School System and we have a Credentialed Impact Center (CIC) at LeConte Medical Center where our therapists are trained to rehabilitate concussions. As an event EMT, you would support our event athletic trainers at the sports tourism locations (Rocky Top Sports World and The Ripken Experience) as well as school tournaments and community events.

 

Position Summary: 

Provide emergency medical service for Rocky Top Sports World, on behalf of LeConte Medical Center. Ideal candidate possesses the experience, and the decision-making and clinical skills to make treatment assessments based on quick injury evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Athletic Trainer to provide emergency medical services for Rocky Top Sports World as part of LeConte Sports Medicine’s community outreach program.
  • Demonstrates and executes the required skills and knowledge by responding to emergency medical situations, rendering an analysis on the situation/injury, and administering emergency medical care.
  • Document all related activities/treatment by completing predetermined forms/reports, and maintaining all information in a confidential manner.
  • Must display an ability to interpret written, oral and diagnostic form instructions and the ability to use good judgment and to remain calm in high stress situations.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:           

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing

 

Minimum Experience:         

One (1) I year of EMS experience required.

 

Licensure Requirement:      

Must have current paramedic licensure in state of Tennessee.
