Position Summary:

As a Quality Improvement leader for Peninsula Hospital, works with the Leadership Team to design and implement the quality improvement processes that support the delivery of patient care.

 

As a Risk Management leader for Peninsula Hospital, works to establish and maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development of plans, education and process review activities designed to insure the delivery of quality care and performance improvement.
  • Participates with the clinical leadership team in implementing quality management tools and processes.
  • Prepares for and facilitates the completion of facility regulatory and licensure surveys.
  • Coordinates the data collection activities for Peninsula Hospital and assists the Manager of QI, Risk and Regulatory Compliance in the communication of the outcomes of such activities to appropriate parties.
  • Assists with the development, coordination, and implementation of operational policies/procedures for Peninsula Hospital.
  • Orients and trains staff in performance improvement activities.
  • Participates actively on various Quality Improvement teams.
  • Orients new licensed independent practitioners to standard medical record documentation expectations.
  • Data collection for physician quality/performance measures.
  • Assists and trains staff in identifying risk management issues.
  • Conducts outpatient Safety/EOC rounds and reports findings to appropriate parties.
  • Assists in coordinating legal concerns with organization attorney when necessary.
  • Reports all risk management concerns to the Manager of QI, Risk and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Participates actively on the Peninsula Hospital Falls Team and Seclusion Restraint Team.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:                       

Associate’s degree in Nursing and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

 

Minimum Experience:                      

Two (2) years of experience in a quality improvement, risk management and/or nursing position within a mental health treatment setting. Preference may be given to individuals with experience in quality improvement and risk management processes.

 

Licensure Requirement:                    

Must have and maintain Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Tennessee.
