Job Objectives:
Fire boilers and control generation of continuous supply of steam for heating and power to Methodist Medical Center buildings.

Education/Knowledge/Skills:
High school diploma or its equivalent is required. Prior course work in general science and physics preferred. Must be able to read with comprehension, write legibly, and perform simple mathematic calculations. Must have the ability to detect malfunctioning of equipment and possible fire and safety hazards. Must be capable of working under emergency and/or stressful conditions.
Experience:
One (1) year experience in building/plant maintenance operations, construction, or with a mechanical or electrical contractor, or a graduate with certification from a trade school in a maintenance related field. A minimum of three years' experience as a boiler attendant and two years of progressive experience in maintenance work is strongly preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
None is required.
