Position Summary:

Oversees the provision of services and the implementation of the business plan for the Intensive Outpatient Programs, the Recovery Education Center, the Peer-Support Centers, and other grant funded programs. Assures that services are provided by qualified professionals and are compliance with all requirements. Responsible effective coordination of services by providers and facilitating supervision of clinical staff. Develops performance targets and assures their successful completion. Provides leadership for continuous quality improvement for the program’s services, operations and functions. Provides clinical and administrative leadership, guidance, support, and supervision to program employees of all disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for implementation and operation of the Recovery Education Center; Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Supported Employment, Independent Living, Peer Support Centers, and other grant funded programs for individuals who experience psychiatric symptoms, their family members, supporters and health care professionals. Components of the program will include a general introduction to recovery, WRAP training, and Peer Support Specialist training. Accountable for developing and implementing the program’s business plan that supports the strategic plan of Parkwest Medical Center. Assures that productivity targets are met.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agency requirements (The Joint Commission, state agencies, etc.) Medicare, and other payers, as related to patient care and clinical documentation activities.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, adherence, and monitoring of annual operating budget.
  • Accountable for marketing and census building activities for the programs. Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with actual or prospective referral sources. Develops and implements annual marketing plan for the program. Serves as the program’s primary representative to external constituents through committee meetings, board memberships, public speaking, etc. Interfaces with Primary Care Physicians and specialists within the Covenant Health system to facilitate awareness and utilization of services.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, completion of performance evaluations, and discipline of employees.
  • Assures that recovery-based programs are appropriately integrated throughout Peninsula to provide continuity of client service. Identifies possible synergies with other system facilities and departments. Works closely with Inpatient and Outpatient Clinical Directors to achieve this objective.
  • Accountable for the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and standards of practice for the program.
  • Participates in the development and implementation and/or revision of Outpatient Services clinical policies and procedures and quality improvement projects.
  • Facilitates communication between program and other departments of Parkwest.
  • Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:           

Masters degree in health care required; Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or related field.

 

Minimum Experience:         

Two (2) years supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting required. Knowledge of Mental Illness Management and Recovery Models and Experience peer support services is strongly preferred.

 

Licensure Requirement:      

None. Preferred: Licensed in one of the mental health fields recognized under current state law.
