Patient Care Assistant, Observation Unit
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

The 'Observation Unit' is a new addition to the Fort Sanders family. It comprises of a fast past comprehensive clinical unit that will support all specialties. This 24-bed unit is critical to support patient flow and expedite care to our patients.
The Observations Unit will be a driving force between ED/Inpatient care, therefore strong communication and collaboration will be a strong focus to drive the overall performance.
Come be a part of this new journey, as we continue to expand this department. This unit is also a great steppingstone for nurses that want to eventually work in ICU or ER.
Position Summary: Functions as a direct patient caregiver performing tasks to assist registered nurses. Performs hands-on care, assistance with ADL’s and specified technical tasks for a group of patients under the supervision of the Team Leader.

Minimum Education:
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.

Licensure Requirement:
CPR required.
