Central Transport:

Central Transport provides patient transportation within the hospital. Transporters move patients between the emergency department, the inpatient floors, and diagnostic areas such as radiology, endoscopy, and cardio diagnostics. Transporters often discharge patients after their stay is complete. Our transporters are often the first employees a patient interacts with upon admission and the last as they are leaving. Excellent customer service skills and ability to put patients at ease are a must. Transporters also assist with equipment moves and will respond to patient codes to assist in the care of critically ill patients. Transporters are dispatched using an electronic flow-board with a queuing system for pages. The department is staffed from 5:30 am - 2:00 am, 7 days a week.
