$10,000 Sign-on Bonus for experienced candidates

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System has 167 licensed beds and 23 emergency suites. The hospital offers outstanding ancillary services including Laboratory, Radiology and Therapy services. At our Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies, and can meet with a nurse navigator if needed. The Women’s Center offers six newly remodeled labor and delivery suites and has a secure nursery for the care of our newborns. It serves an eight-county region in the Lakeway Area and is equipped with modern technologies and expert staff to provide the best possible patient care. Position Summary: 

Under general direction, plans, evaluates and implements treatment programs for patients.  While maintaining a patient load, assumes additional responsibility of new program development, staff training and orientation, and consultation in area of expertise for fellow staff members.

Responsibilities

  • All job responsibilities of staff position.
  • Advance clinical practice - evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Develops and maintains orientation checklists and competency criteria.
  • Serves as resource person for staff and senior staff on an ongoing basis.
  • Gives 20 hours education/mentorship time per year. This includes:
  • Peer counseling
  • Mentorship
  • Community lectures/volunteer
  • Orientation of new staff in area of specialty
  • Inservices
  • Resource notebook in area of specialty
  • Takes at least one student per year.
  • Demonstrates leadership in development and implementation of new and current program policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates leadership in development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and standards of practice. This includes:
  • Clinical Pathway development
  • New policy development
  • Clinical Outcomes analysis and communication to team
  • QA/QI participation
  • As a group, initiates/coordinates continuing education courses to be hosted by FSHS.
  • Coordinates at least two courses per year.
  • Solicits input from staff regarding topics of interest
  • Secures speakers
  • Develops course budget
  • Coordinates course (location, advertising, refreshments, speaker’s fees, etc.).
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

 

Minimum Experience:

Four (4) years of experience with a minimum of three (3) years in specialty area. Prefer at least one year of acute care experience.

 

Licensure Requirement:

Must have and maintain Tennessee State Physical Therapy licensure, with achievement of at least one of the following at time of hire or placement in the position:

  • Advanced degree in specialty area
  • Advanced degree associated with specialty area      
  • Professionally recognized certification in specialty area
  • 100 hours (10.0 CEU’s) of continued education
