At Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center we specialize in neurological treatment and hold the longest running comprehensive stroke certification in the region - we provide full cycle, cutting edge stroke treatment including neurosurgical procedures, and neurointerventional radiology. We are a tertiary referral center for stroke and neurological care, meaning other hospitals trust us with their most complex patients.

Neurological medical/surgical floor, 5 North, is located on the fifth floor of the hospital.

As the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in Covenant Health, we take great pride in providing exceptional care and timely treatment for our patients.

5 North is a 35 bed unit. We specialize and treat a wide range of neurological conditionals such as, but not limited to: hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes, aneurysms, subdural hematomas, post neurosurgical and interventional radiology cases.

Our team is comprised of RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and PCAs, utilizing each to the top of their scope.

We follow a 12- hour shift, weekends/holidays on a six-week schedule.

Team members utilize a self-scheduling software, and employee requests are then used during the scheduling process to balance and coordinate with the department’s needs.

We pride ourselves in fostering a culture of positivity and team work. Our team has a passion for patient care and loves their coworkers.
