Full Time, 80 Hours per pay period, Day Shifts

Position Summary: 

This position serves food and snacks to children ages infant to six (6) years of age in a group setting. The Food Service Worker coordinates serving and limited food preparation activities from the menu provided. Responsible for the cleanliness of the dining room and ensures that laundry is done. Occasionally prepares the food during the absence of Kitchen Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Meets the serving schedule for sixteen (16) groups of children which may include breakfast, lunch, and snack.
  • Maintains Knox County Health Department regulations.
  • Properly cleans and disinfects serving area and dining room after each meal.
  • Sorts and washes laundry (sheets, bibs, clothes, etc.) according to schedule.
  • Ensures that all children with allergies are served the approved foods.
  • Assists with washing dishes.
  • Assists with keeping the diaper and stock room clean and organized.
  • Follows and completes the Daily Checklist Form.
  • Must undergo fingerprinting upon employment and every five (5) years.
  • Completes continuing education requirements as assigned per DHS requirements.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:           

High school diploma or equivalent required.

 

Minimum Experience:         

Food service experience desired. Childcare experience a plus. Customer service skills a must.

 

Licensure Requirement:      

Infant and Child CPR and First Aid certification required or must be attained during employment. Renewed every two (2) years.
