Facility Services Technician 

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary: 

Under limited supervision, performs facility maintenance and repair duties within a specialty area as required. Assists in other areas of maintenance as needed.

• Responsible for continuing work process when supervisor or senior technician leaves the work area.
• Assists in the care and maintenance of department equipment.
• Responds to emergency requests for maintenance after normal working hours.
• Inspects completed work to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and local building codes.
• Performs duties in other areas of maintenance as required or requested. Responsible for documentation and record keeping of all work performed.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specialties:

Construction/General Maintenance

•  Surveys facilities to find maintenance needs and set priorities. Responds to requests for general maintenance repairs within the time frame designated by the work flow coordinator. Specializes in general maintenance work orders including lighting, facility repairs, system furniture installation and window repair.

Boiler Room

• Knowledge of energy building including boilers and all other components of the steam system to assure an uninterrupted supply. Monitors all utility equipment within the Energy Building.
• Maintains Energy Building, equipment and grounds. Responds to emergency requests for maintenance after normal working hours. On second, third and weekend shifts acts as the point of contact for all maintenance requests. Assures that customers receive proper attention to their needs.

Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals graduating from a trade or vocational school.

Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of HVAC, Mechanical, Maintenance or Construction work
