Provides a variety of functions that support the operations of the Health Information Management Department. May not perform every function listed below. Prepares documents for imaging into the Sovera optical imaging system. Prepares documents for scanning, scans the various documents and performs routine maintenance on the scanning equipment. Responsible for the indexing of the documents to the appropriate medical record account and to the appropriate document type within the record. Lack of proper indexing may result in the loss of vital data. Monitors all scanned and indexed documents for quality. Analyzes the records online for the assignment of deficiencies, according to the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Records batch information and prepare scanned records to be removed to off-site storage.
One (1) year experience in medical records department or physician office preferred. Basic computer skills preferred.
