Registered Nurse (RN), Surgical Unit
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift
At Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center we perform over 10,000 surgical procedures each year. The care a patient receives after surgery is just as important as the operation itself. For that reason, we send surgical patients to 3 North to receive exceptional care.
The Post-Surgical Unit (3 North) at Fort Sanders Regional is a 33 bed unit providing care for patients who have undergone general surgery and are recovering at our facility. We specialize in the treatment of the post-operative patient including those who have undergone colon re-sectioning, surgical oncology procedures on the neck, breast, and abdomen, vascular procedures and many more.
As an RN on our post-surgical unit, you will perform a variety of tasks. Great basic nursing skills such as lines, drains, and tubing practices are used on this unit every day as well as cutting edge wound care treatment like wound vacs and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. In addition to having excellent critical thinking skills, our ideal candidate will also possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
You will participate in team nursing, with the RN as Team Leader. Our staff consists of RNs, LPNs, CNA/PCAs, and HUCs who work together to provide exceptional patient care. Nurses on 3N work very closely with physicians to collaborate on treatment plans. We have a supportive environment and an orientation tailored to your needs.
As an organization, we want to grow our employees by promoting a culture of excellence and professionalism. Because of this, nurses on 3N are encouraged to become certified in Med/Surg nursing. If you choose to become certified, our organization can help with the cost of your testing, as well as pay you a yearly bonus for taking the next step in your career.
