Non-Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist
Department: Cath Lab
Full-time, 72 - 80 hours per 2 week pay period
Day Shift plus Call.
Position Summary:
Provide assistance to the cardiologist or cardiac surgeon in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and angiography procedures, measuring cardiovascular parameters such as cardiac output, blood flow velocity, cardiovascular dynamics, cardiac electrophysiology parameters, intracardiac shunt detection, valve flow/valve area determinations, intracardiac pressure measurements, oximetry determination, cineangiocardiography, and the measurement and calculation of cardiac function indices. The technologist assists in all phases of catheterization procedure including insertion of the catheter, operation of various electronic instruments and calculation of hemodynamic data.

Position Accountabilities and Performance Criteria:
Minimum Education:
High school graduate supplemented by coursework in science, anatomy and physiology. Candidates must have
completed either a cardiovascular Technology program accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body
(e.g. CAAHEP, ABHES, JRC-CVT, JRC-DMS) or a formalized on the job cardiac catheterization training program
consisting of at least 1,040 combined hours (6 months) of classroom and practical laboratory work.
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in a health related field.
Licensure Requirement: CPR required.
