Unit Secretary, Nephrology Unit
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift
(Every other weekend)
The Nephrology Unit (3 West) at Fort Sanders Regional is a 17 bed telemetry unit serving a wide variety of medical patients. Our primary population consists of patients with acute or chronic renal failure, diabetes and cardiac issues.
We specialize in the treatment of the kidney patient including those who are newly diagnosed with a kidney issue, as well as individuals who are long term dialysis patients. Cardiac overflow
Our staff consists of RNs, LPNs, CNA/PCAs, and HUCs who work together to provide exceptional care. We work in close collaboration with one another, our physicians and interdisciplinary team. Position Summary: Provide clerical and secretarial services to the nursing unit.

Minimum Education: None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: Must be a CNA, MA, or EMT at the time of hire or be a HUC I, PCA, CNA, MA, or EMT with six or more (6+) months of experience at a Covenant Health facility and complete the Covenant Health’s Patient Care Assistant training protocol. Phlebotomy skills Required. EKG performance is preferred but not required.
Licensure Requirement: External new hires must have CNA certification.
