Full-Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

Will play an integral role in the advancement of the Covenant Health Clinical Quality Value Analysis (CQVA) initiative including standardization, utilization, and contract compliance of medical/surgical supplies and minor equipment throughout the health system.  Helps provide direction regarding clinical standardization opportunities to senior leadership and acts as a liaison to physicians, nursing, and other clinical staff.  Collaborates with facility leadership to facilitate cost reduction opportunities via implementation of product standardization, clinical utilization and evidence-based practice while ensuring quality outcomes. Performs research, data analysis, and benchmarking in order to develop strategies, tools, presentations and reports to identify potential savings and help Covenant Health entities achieve these results. 

Responsibilities

  • Serves as member of the System CQVA Team and plays an integral role with Covenant Health Clinical Quality Value Analysis (CQVA) initiative of system-wide medical/surgical supplies and minor equipment standardization as assigned by Director.
  • Researches products and clinical topics to support decision making of CQVA teams. Uses the Internet, published resources, and networking to maintain expertise in healthcare trends and accomplish necessary research.
  • Works with facility leaders to identify and track appropriate supply chain benchmarks against which organizational performance is monitored. Facilitates implementation of subsequently designed strategies to enhance strategic initiatives and facility operational processes.
  • Provides education to CQVA members, managers, physicians and administrators related to costs, best practices, decision-making methodology and processes required to achieve measurable results.
  • Sets goals, plans and prioritizes projects, and develops appropriate communication plans. Oversees implementation of assigned project’s communication and conversion plans.
  • Monitors utilization and work to resolve both preference and clinical application contracts standardization compliance issues.
  • . Acts as a resource to Senior Leadership on clinical standardization/utilization issues.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through continued education, seminars and specific technical training to keep abreast of the latest trends in healthcare technology.
  • Participates in the System Materials Council to collaborate on developing strategic initiatives and improve Integrated Delivery Network (IDN) operational processes.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep informed of latest trends in CQVA.
  • Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
  • Collaborates with other support and materials staff to add value to the organization through strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Collaborates with other support staff to add value to the organization through efforts in clinical standardization, and educational efforts for team members
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Analyzes data to assist in the development of improvement plans.
  • Promotes use of CQVA processes by physicians and facility leaders.
  • Provides consultation for medical technology assessment, and supply formulary consistency.
  • Coordinates with Supply Chain team during negotiation of contracts and commitment levels with vendor representatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Education  Bachelor's degree in Business or Clinical field. An equivalent combination of post- secondary education and experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement.

 

Minimum Experience  Healthcare related experience five to eight (5-8) years to include knowledge and skills in the following areas: hospital and health organizations; hospital departmental functions; business communication; methods and procedures for procurement of supplies and equipment.  Two or more (2+) additional years of experience in a supervisory or coordination role. Experience making presentations to both small and large groups.  Ability to work with a variety of people including physicians, administrators, managers and staff.  Must exhibit strong analytical and organizational skills.  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate knowledge of computer software including MS Office Suite.
