Position Summary:
Senior Program Counselor will teach skill building and wellness courses which support the recovery needs of students enrolled in the Recovery Education Psychiatric Rehabilitation program. Senior Program counselors are responsible for fostering a learning environment that is safe, collaborative and supportive. Senior Program counselors are assigned a case load of students with whom they meet weekly, maintain weekly progress notes, attend treatment team meetings and communicate with other care providers as necessary regarding the students. Senior Program Counselors are expected to maintain their peer support certification and complete all trainings required by the organization. Communication with the manager and team members is a high priority and ongoing process.

Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in rehabilitation, psychology, social work or related field and completion of Peer Support Specialist Training and Certification from the State of Tennessee Mental Health Department.
Minimum Experience: In lieu of degree should have three (3) years of experience in behavioral health and have training in a recovery-oriented approach.
Licensure Requirement: Peer Support Specialist training and Certification. CPR required.
