Licensed Practical Nurse - Medical Unit
Full TIme, 72 hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift

Medical Unit:
This is a 33 bed Complex Medical unit that cares for pulmonary, renal, GI, surgery and medical patients (everything except acute cardiac); ranging from patients on telemetry and various forms of oxygen delivery methods including stable tracheostomy patients (no ventilator patients) and hemodialysis patients. The population on the unit is highly varied from self-care patients requiring a work-up on an inpatient unit to total care patients. A majority of our patients have at least 2 co-morbidities. The average length of stay is 4 days, some are admitted for less than 24 hours and some will stay with us for 2+ weeks. You will experience, learn and grow in your clinical skills on this unit with an opportunity to create a nursing career path plan.
Position Summary:
The LPN/LVN II will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit.

Minimum Education:
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience:
Must have a minimum of six (6) months experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse; and have successfully completed an IV therapy course developed from the Infusion Nurse Society Standards; or have a minimum of six (6) months experience as a LPN/LVN and have documented proof of having successfully completed a formal institutional/agency-based intravenous therapy training and competency program prior to January 1, 2007 or if after 2007, have completed a formal IV therapy program based on the current INS standards.
Licensure Requirement:
Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
