Patient Care Assistant, Post Intervention Unit
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Post Intervention Unit:
The Cardiac Specialty Unit (aka: Intermediate Care Unit) consists of 33 telemetry beds. This unit treats patients presenting chest pain or unstable angina, as well as those recovering from placement of cardiac stents, permanent pacemakers, or AICDs. The top three admitting diagnoses are coronary atherosclerosis, chest pain, and intermediate coronary syndrome. We have long term staff members because of our culture and teamwork on our floor. The physicians see this as well and trust the judgment of our team. We have modified self-scheduling with a requirement of every other weekend and every other holiday. 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts.
Position Summary: Functions as a direct patient caregiver performing tasks to assist registered nurses. Performs hands-on care, assistance with ADL’s and specified technical tasks for a group of patients under the supervision of the Team Leader.

Minimum Education:
None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a HS diploma or GED.
