Manager Guest Services - Chaplain

Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

 

Position Summary:

Provide pastoral care with patients, visitors and employees, ensuring the opportunity for effective communication and dialogue.  Work with leadership to support and encourage interaction of leadership with employees and physicians.  Acts as community liaison and resource for providing community based services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pastoral care among patients, visitors, and employees of the assigned hospital.
  • Operational responsibilities for Guest Services, including gift shop, patient representatives, pastoral care, volunteer services, and department assistant.
  • Create an environment and facilitate effective communication between leadership and employees.
  • Serve as liaison with employees and leadership.
  • Develop mechanism for relaying issues and practice as it related to system and facility policies, procedures and objectives.
  • Promote culture development through increased awareness of our values and strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with Marketing/Public Relations to communicate our mission internally and externally in our community, improving the organization’s image in the community.
  • Serve on institutional and system committees/task forces as appropriate to stay informed and to promote communication.
  • Maintain open communication with Covenant Health’s chaplain services to facilitate and support cooperative activities.
  • Participate in local, regional and national organizations as appropriate to maintain current certification and be informed regarding related activities.
  • Coordinate and continually improve the systematic process to respond to Employee Satisfaction results.
  • Community liaison for the development of community based services, support and health improvement.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Establish programs that address community needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, management or human resources. 

 

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years Chaplain/pastoral experience. Previous supervisor experience (preferably in healthcare setting) required.

 

Licensure Requirement:

Required to be Board Certified as a chaplain.
