CNA, Cardiology Unit
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift
This is a Cardiac Telemetry unit that cares for Cardiac, Pulmonary and Renal patients; ranging from cardiac drips, various forms of oxygen delivery methods including stable tracheostomy patients (no ventilator patients) and hemodialysis/peritoneal dialysis patients. The population on the unit is highly varied from self-care patients requiring a work-up on an inpatient unit to total care patients. The majority of our patients have at least 2 comorbidities. The average length of stay is 4 days, some are admitted for less than 24 hours and some will stay with us for 2+ weeks. You will experience, learn and grow in your clinical skills on this unit.
Position Summary: Functions as a direct patient caregiver performing tasks to assist registered nurses. Performs hands-on care, assistance with ADL’s and specified technical tasks for a group of patients under the supervision of the Team Leader.
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority. .
Hospital experience preferred. Medical terminology a plus. Must be able to operate computer and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to read with comprehension, write legibly, and perform basic arithmetic computation. Must have understanding and knowledge of patient care which may be appropriately delegated to nursing assistants.
Must have and maintain Tennessee State CNA certification. CPR required.
