Senior Financial/Decision Support Analyst

Position Summary: This position will be responsible for maintenance and input of payer contracts and using that information as well as the tools provided to calculate reimbursement for services provided across multiple service lines throughout Covenant and reporting those results to management and senior leadership.  Also responsible for the financial modules of the Decision Support System (DSS), specifically the cost accounting & G/L modules. 

 

Advanced Excel Skills highly preferred.

Advanced Analytical Skills highly preferred. 

Advanced Communication Skills highly preferred.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee implementation of the financial modules of the DSS as needed. Ensure that all necessary financial data structures are built and that all essential data is captured in DSS.
  • Responsible for cost & charge data audits in DSS.
  • Design and develop effective cost accounting and cost identification methods and systems and verify the reasonableness of per unit costs.
  • Recognize when financial DSS parameters need updating due to either routine annual audits or because of operational changes.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of patient-level financial information in DSS to the financial statements.
  • Assist end-users and other management decision-makers with the proper use and interpretation of cost/DSS information.
  • Propose system enhancements / analytical tools / process changes to meet business and clinical objectives of the health system.
  • Maintain tables within various financial systems & software packages within corporate finance. This includes the productivity system along with other systems as needed.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field. 

                                               

Minimum Experience: Six (6) years of Accounting/Finance or healthcare business office experience.

 

Advanced Excel Skills highly preferred.

Advanced Analytical Skills highly preferred. 

Advanced Communication Skills highly preferred.
