RN House Supervisor, Nursing Administration Support

Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift


Parkwest Medical Center is searching for a RN House Supervisor as part of the Nursing Administration team.  This is a full-time, night shift position offering hours from 7p-7a (72 hours per pay period).   This candidate will assume responsibility and accountability for operations in all departments for an assigned shift, including representing hospital leadership during their absence. 


Position Summary: A registered nurse who directs and coordinates administrative activities on a specified tour of duty; referring patient care problems to appropriate nursing staff member and/or non-nursing problems to the appropriate department head.


  • Reviews staffing each shift for each unit.
  • Assists charge nurse to assure adequate staffing when there is a problem.
  • Makes rounds and provides managerial presence.
  • Assists new personnel and acts as a resource to the nursing staff.
  • Assists with procedures when staff has difficulty.
  • Acts as advocate to find resources such as supplies as needed.
  • Listens to staff problems and effectively resolves conflict as necessary.
  • Responds to safety codes when necessary.
  • Provides information to nurse managers regarding quality and employee problems.
  • Resolves patient/family complaints when necessary.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing; advanced education is desirable.


Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of clinical experience.


Licensure Requirement: Current Tennessee RN license. CPR required.
