At Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center we strive to provide outstanding patient care during emergent situations. The brand new Emergency Department at our hospital consists of 53 beds for providing such care. Nurses in our emergency department work in a very fast paced environment to quickly assess conditions and stabilize patients in life-threatening emergencies such as strokes, heart attacks or severe injuries as well as less urgent medical issues.
Fort Sanders Regional has the longest running comprehensive stroke certification in the region, meaning that our ED is trusted to care for a large portion of the areas stoke patients.
As an nurse manager in the Emergency Department, you will perform a variety of tasks such as advanced assessments, administering life-saving medications, as well as providing holistic care for the community. In addition to having excellent critical thinking skills, our ideal candidate will also possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You will also manage an average of 68 FTE's and an average volume of 56,000 patients seen on an annual basis in the ED.
The Nurse manager for the Emergency Department will report directly to the Director of Emergency Services and has the support of a dedicated Educator and Department Assistant to perform and assist with daily functions and requirements for day to day operations for the Emergency Department.

Position Summary: Is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the Nurse Manager position.
Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required. Master's Degree is strongly preferred.
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of recent clinical experience. Two (2) years of leadership/managerial experience preferred. Experience in Lean Management and current CEN certification are strongly preferred for this role.
Licensure Requirement: Must have and maintain Tennessee State registered nurse license.
