From the area’s first robotically-assisted surgery system, image-guided brain and spinal cord procedures, to our hybrid operating room, Fort Sanders Regional provides patients more options and the best surgical technology available. We also offer traditional surgical options including advanced laparoscopy and day surgery procedures.
The Surgery department at Fort Sanders Regional consists of 17 operating rooms where over 10,000 procedures are performed each year. Our surgical specialties include bariatrics, cardiothoracic, colon/rectal, orthopedics, plastics, vascular, sinus, neuro, and surgical oncology.
As an RN in surgery, you will perform a variety of tasks including preparing the operating room for the patient, setting up the tools and making sure the field is sterile. Attention to detail is a “must have” skill for the role of surgery RN. In addition to having excellent critical thinking skills, our ideal candidate will also possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Our staff consists of RNs, Certified Surgical Technologists, and Peri-Op / Anesthesia Techs who work together at all times to provide exceptional patient outcomes. Position Summary: Is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the Nurse Manager position.
Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited nursing program required; possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred (required within 3 years in position or effective date of job description).
Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of recent clinical experience. Two (2) years of leadership/managerial experience preferred.
Licensure Requirement: Must have and maintain Tennessee State registered nurse license.
