Attendant, Central Transport
Full-time, 72 hours per pay periods, Nights
Job Objectives: Provide ancillary assistance to patient care providers who have the responsibility to deliver patient services in a designated service area.
Education/Knowledge/Skills: Must be able to read with comprehension and write legibly. Must be able to perform simple arithmetic functions. Must complete an in-hospital training course in addition to general and unit specific orientation. Must have knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in duties related to bedside patient care service; understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for patients and in caring for equipment and supplies; and good understanding of asepsis and sterile techniques to avoid infection of patients and self or contamination of equipment and supplies. For staff involved in the care of age-specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential. Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.
Experience: Prior experience with patient-related care is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: Must be currently certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or be recertified during orientation period.
