Medical Technologist, General Laboratory

Full-Time, 80 hours per pay period, Days

Position Summary: Performs routine and complex tests in blood bank, serology-urinalysis, coagulation, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology using various manual and automated approved procedures. Assists technical specialists with technical management of assigned sections.

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience: Must possess knowledge obtained by formal education, previous experience, or on-the-job training of instruments and quality control methods for those procedures assigned. Must possess knowledge of blood bank, hematology, serology, urinalysis, chemistry, and microbiology obtained by formal education. Must have or acquire the computer skills necessary to perform assigned duties. 

Licensure Requirements: Must be licensed in the State of Tennessee as a medical technologist.
