Patient Care Assistant , Post Intervention Unit
Full-Time, 72 hours per pay period, Night shift
Our CSU/CTSU unit consists of 50 beds. Feels like a family oriented environment. We have long term
staff members because of our culture and teamwork on our floor. The physicians see this as well and trust the
judgment of our team. We see cardiac, surgical, cardiac vascular, and cardio thoracic patients. We see a good bit
of ortho as well as dysrhythmeas, congestive heart failure,TAVRS, and mitral clips.
We have modified self-scheduling with a requirement of every other weekend and every other
holiday. 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts.
Position Summary: Functions as a direct patient caregiver performing tasks to assist registered nurses. Performs hands-on care, assistance with ADL’s and specified technical tasks for a group of patients under the supervision of the Team Leader.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Hospital experience preferred. Medical terminology a plus. Must be able to operate computer and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must be able to read with comprehension, write legibly, and perform basic arithmetic computation. Must have understanding and knowledge of patient care which may be appropriately delegated to nursing assistants.
Licensure Requirement:CNA Certification Preferred CPR required.
