    Clinical Nurse I, Orthopedic Med Surgery 


    Full-Time, 72 Hours per pay period, Shift: Nights

Our Orthopedic-Spine unit (5 Riverstone) is a rapid paced, 44-bed post-surgical unit with both a Joint Center of Excellence and a Spine Center of Excellence. We will be moving to two 36 bed units.  Our population consists of orthopedic and spine surgery patients. Nurses on our orthopedic-spine unit are members of an integral team of health professionals (physicians, RNs, LPNs, SNAs, CNAs, HUCs, PTs and OTs) that provide the most comprehensive care to its clients and their families. 


    Direct patient care, assessment, planning and implementation of the nursing process.


    Position Summary:

    Provides direct patient care, along with planning and implementation of the nursing process, in accordance with individualized care plans (nursing and medical), physician orders and facility policies and procedures. Must be able to provide professional nursing care within an assigned unit while planning coordinated care within an interdisciplinary team. 


    Minimum Experience:

    New graduate, after first (1st) year of nursing practice, the RN will then be eligible to advance into a Clinical II position with the organization. Official orientation into nursing practice will begin after verification of passing the NCLEX exam. Participation in the organization's Nurse Residency program a mandatory requirement upon hire.


    Continuing Education:

    RN will be required to complete a minimum of ten (10) contact hours of continuing education annually (5 of the 10 hours specific to enhancing clinical expertise). 


    Licensure Requirement:

    Valid Tennessee RN license required.  Within 30 days of hire fire/security, infection control, and CPR inservices are required.
