Medical Laboratory Technician, Family Care Specialists
Full-Time, 80 hours per pay period, Days
Position Summary: The Medical Laboratory Technician performs waived or non-waived, routine and specialized clinical Lab tests for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients by physicians. The individual will perform only those tests that s/he has been trained and found competent in performing. Act as a lead to other lab staff and ensure all CLIA requirements are met and all staff competencies are kept up to date. Must be willing to become certified to perform urine drug screens and breath alcohol tests. Also willing to assist with routine EKG's
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Must possess basic computer skills and medical terminology. Must have knowledge of the Versyss, Lab Corp and Quest Information System. Prefer at least three (3) years experience in Waived and Non-waived testing. Proficient in phlebotomy.
Licensure requirement: Current Tennessee State License as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Certification by ASCP or NCA is preferred.
