Certified Pharmacy Technician, Cumberland Medical Center Pharmacy
PRN (as needed); all shifts as need; 16 - 48 hours per 2 week pay period
Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, performs functions pertaining to the dispensing of medications. Technical functions are expanded to include IV process proficiency, problem solving skills and quality improvement involvement.
Minimum Education: High School or equivalent; completion of high school algebra and typing skills required (verify algebra and typing courses in curriculum).
Minimum Experience: One (1) year experience or state approved certification when available. Expanded skills to include TPN and/or chemotherapy compounding with corresponding math skills. Computer skills necessary.
Licensure Requirements: The Tennessee Board of Pharmacy requires newly hired probationary employees to be licensed by the end of their first 90 days of hire and to maintain their Technician License in active status thereafter.
