    Coord Orthopedic Perioperative Services - Surgery


    FT, 80 hours per pay period; day shift. 


    Position Summary: The Orthopedic Perioperative Coordinator supports the OQI in collaboration with the Physician co-Managers of OQI.  The Coordinator shall support the clinical direction of the participating Physician Co-Managers of the Service Line in the areas of: a) Day-to-day operations for both outpatient and inpatient orthopedic surgical services including central sterile, operating rooms and staffing, b) Stakeholder service and operations effectiveness and c) Policies and procedures related to orthopedic perioperative services.


    This role is responsible for assisting OQI with the success development, implementation and operations of the orthopedic perioperative service line resulting in high quality outcomes, cost effective performance and increases in volume/market share. This position serves as an administrative liaison for orthopedic activities, projects and programs and works closely with executive leadership, OSEC, and Surgery Director regarding the state of relevant technology, identifying avenues for increased revenue and reimbursement for services.


    Minimum Education:  None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.


    Minimum Experience:  Experience in leading a team, demonstrated by experiences as a coordinator, manager, or educator is preferred.  Hospital – Three (3) years of Operating Room experience with orthopedic specialization required. Supervisory –three (3) years of supervisory experience in a hospital or ambulatory care setting. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.


    Licensure Requirements:  Valid Tennessee RN license. Current ONC certification required.
