    Surgical Technologist-Certified- Labor and Delivery 

     

    Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift

     

    Labor and Delivery cares for high risk perinatal patients with 12 Labor and Delivery rooms, 3 Operating Rooms, 5 bed triage area, 6 Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum Rooms and 7 antepartum rooms. Critical thinking skills and able to provide excellent care in a fast paced environment is a plus.

     

    Position Summary:  Facilitate patient care by assisting physicians and nursing staff before, during and after surgical procedures by creating and maintaining a sterile field and providing the instruments and supplies required by the surgeons in a sterile manner according to the established plan of patient care Competently performs without assistance the majority of assigned cases in a given service/shift; may perform difficult or complicated cases either with or without assistance. Includes assisting with vaginal deliveries, C/S, stocking, transporting patients form physicians office, ED, on the floor. Must be team oriented. Willing to learn. Be an active part of the patient care and working along RN and MD. 

     

    Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

     

    Minimum Experience: None with certification.

     

    Licensure Requirements:  Must hold current and active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Certified Surgical Tech for OB preferred.
