Health Unit Coordinator II (HUC II), Critical Care Unit

The Critical Care Unit at LeConte Medical Center is split into two sections: ICU and Step-down, both having 8 beds per section. The Nurse to Patient ratio for ICU is 2:1 and Step-down is 4:1, allowing for the staff to give patients the attention they need. The CCU staff works together closely as a team to ensure patients receive the best care possible. The staff strives to create a warm and welcoming team environment that cultivates healing for the patients and their families, and each other.
Our staffing mix includes RNs, LPNs, CNAs and HUCs. Our multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, nutritionists, case managers and direct care staff meet daily to discuss patient's conditions and progress toward their discharge plan. We serve a rapidly growing community with a wide age range. Our staff involves family in the care of the patient through participation and education of the patient`s medical condition. Position Summary: Provide clerical and secretarial services to the nursing unit.
Minimum Experience: Prior healthcare experience preferred. Completion of Health Unit Coordinator Curriculum within two weeks of hire required. CPOE training and on-the-job training with an experienced HUC preferred.
Licensure Requirement: CNA Certification Required. HUC Certification preferred.
