LPN II- Transitional Care Unit
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift
The Transitional Care Unit provides extended physical or occupational therapy or skilled nursing care to patients transitioning from hospital to home. It is located on the 9th floor of the hospital and has a registered nurse on duty around the clock. Skilled caregivers also include licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, case managers, therapists and activities coordinators.
Position Summary: The LPN/LVN II will provide nursing care under supervision of a registered nurse, within an assigned unit.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Must have a minimum of six (6) months experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse; and have successfully completed an IV therapy course developed from the Infusion Nurse Society Standards; or have a minimum of six (6) months experience as a LPN/LVN and have documented proof of having successfully completed a formal institutional/agency-based intravenous therapy training and competency program prior to January 1, 2007 or if after 2007, have completed a formal IV therapy program based on the current INS standards.
Licensure Requirement: Currently licensed by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse.
