    Clinical Nurse I- Cardiology


    Part Time, 48 - 59 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift 


    The Cardiac Unit is a 23-Bed cardiac telemetry unit with all private rooms. The unit provides care to patients requiring close observation and 24 hour EKG monitoring.  The patient population includes:  post cardiac intervention patients, chest pain, congestive heart failure and various other cardiac diagnosis.     Team members include RNs, CNA/PCAs and HUCs.  With a 1:5  nurse/ patient ratio and a length of stay at 2.5 days this fast paced environment provides excellent care to East Tennessee patients and families.


    Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center believes in being a well-rounded nurse and we offer our new graduates classroom and 16 weeks of on-unit training with a preceptor. Covenant Health offers a Nurse Residency Program to new graduates to provide support during the first year as a new nurse. In addition, we encourage hospital and unit-based Shared Governance participation to challenge nurses to utilize evidence-based practice at the bedside. OCN Certification available to all RN’s.


    Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.


    Minimum Education: New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) year experience.


    Licensure Requirement: Valid Tennessee RN license, Fire, safety/security, infection control and CPR are required.
