Attendant, Central Transport
Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift
Position Summary: Provides lifts and preparation of therapy treatment under the supervision of a physical therapist or physical therapy assistant. Will serve on a lift team that provides services to entire facility.
Minimum Education: Must be able to read with comprehension and write legibly. Must be able to perform simple arithmetic functions. Must complete an in-hospital training course in addition to general and unit specific orientation. Must have knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in duties related to bedside patient care service; understanding of standard techniques used in providing personal services for patients and in caring for equipment and supplies; and good understanding of asepsis and sterile techniques to avoid infection of patients and self or contamination of equipment and supplies. For staff involved in the care of age- specific groups, knowledge of the bio-psychosocial needs of adult, geriatric and pediatric patients is essential. Special knowledge is required in growth and development needs of pediatric/geriatric patients where applicable.
Minimum Experience: Prior experience with patient-related care is preferred.
Licensure Requirement: Must be currently certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or be recertified during orientation period.
