Clinical Nurse I- Orthopedic Med Surg
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift (Rotational on call, weekends, and holidays required)
Orthopedic and Bariatric Surgical Unit (5 West): is a 26 bed unit serving a wide variety of medical patients. Our patient population consists of patients recovering from fractures and total knee, total hip, and total shoulder operations as well as patients recovering from gastric bypass and gastric sleeve procedures. This unit works closely with other professional disciplines to provide comprehensive care to post-operative Orthopedic and Bariatric surgical patients throughout their stay. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5-6.
Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center believes in being a well-rounded nurse and we offer our new graduates classroom and 16 weeks of on-unit training with a preceptor. Covenant Health offers a Nurse Residency Program to new graduates to provide support during the first year as a new nurse. In addition, we encourage hospital and unit-based Shared Governance participation to challenge nurses to utilize evidence-based practice at the bedside. OCN Certification available to all RN’s.
Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Minimum Education: New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) year experience.
Licensure Requirement: Valid Tennessee RN license, Fire, safety/security, infection control and CPR are required.
