Clinical Nurse IV- Critical Care Unit
Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Night Shift (Three weekends required during a six week period and alternating holidays)
Critical Care Department: A 30 bed unit composed of an 8 bed Neuro Intensive Care Unit (NICU), 8 bed Medical Surgical ICU (MSICU) and a 14 bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). Ft Sanders is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Regional Referral Center that offers many full service lines to care for all East Tennessean needs with a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio. Fort Sanders offers an Intermediate Care Unit that is a fast-paced unit caring for a variety of medical patients that do not require critical care, but still require closer observation, with a 1:3 nurse-patient ratio.
Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within a designated Critical Care unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines. This is a Clinical Expert that practices in accordance with evidenced-based nursing standards and practices; serves as leader and role model to others; demonstrates advanced clinical skills in caring for complex critically ill patients. Note: Incumbents in this job classification are expected to accept assignments to meet Critical Care needs in other Covenant Health facilities as needed. Can work in MSICU. NICU, IMC, and may float to the ED as needed.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of four (4) years RN experience, three (3) years of which must have been in an Intensive/Critical Care setting
Licensure Requirement: Active licensure from the State of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse. Critical Care Certification (CCRN or equivalent) is required. ACLS certification is required.
