Pharmacy Technician II
Full time, day shift, 80 hours per pay period, Tentative schedule: Monday-Friday 9:30am-6pm
State of Tennessee Technician certification is required. This candidate must be familiar with OTC and prescription medications and must have strong interpersonal and customer service skills as there will be interactations with patients and health care providers on a daily basis.
Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, performs functions pertaining to the dispensing of medications. Technical functions are expanded to include IV process proficiency, problem solving skills and quality improvement involvement.
Minimum Experience One (1) year experience or state approved certification when available. Expanded skills to include TPN and compounding with corresponding math skills. Computer skills necessary.
Licensure Requirement The Tennessee Board of Pharmacy requires a Technician certification, or newly hired probationary employees to be licensed by the end of their first 90 days of hire and to maintain their Technician License in active status thereafter.
