Clinical Nurse I, Heart - Lung - Vascular
Full Time, 72 hours per pay period, Night Shift
This position is designed to provide supervisory leadership to staff level employees, coordinating such activities with the department’s Manager. The incumbent is expected to exercise independent judgement and discretion in performing the duties.
The Heart-Lung Vascular unit (2-Montvue Towers) is part of the three Nursing Units of the Internal Medicine Department comprises approximately a third of inpatient beds at Parkwest Medical Center. This unit has 27 private telemetry rooms and has a patient population consisting of neuro-surgical, stroke and neuro-medical patients This unit specializes in Cerebrovascular Accidents and also has Intermediate Care; including ventilators. The Montvue Tower gives Registered Nurses an opportunity to see a variety of patients with a myriad of medical diagnoses. This exposure builds a solid foundation for our nurses in all aspects of adult health. Additionally, with each unit there is an opportunity to learn a specialization. The experience gained by our Internal Medicine Nurses fosters technical competence and a professional confidence that allows you to perform at the highest levels of your profession. Position Summary: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience: Must possess at least (1) year of professional nursing experience. Telemetry experience preferred.
Licensure Requirements: Valid Tennessee RN license. Fire/security, infection control, and CPR inservices are required.
All Clinical Nurse I employees at Covenant Health are automatically enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program. Please note: There is no separate application for Nurse Residency. We ask that residents commit for 1 year to the program and to their unit of hire. Seperate from nurse residency, each department has a unit based orientation working closely with preceptors.The Covenant Health Nurse Residency Program consists of one paid 4-hour session each month for 12 months, and a solo or group participation and presentation of an evidence-based research project.
