Clinical Nurse I, Post Intervention Unit

 

Full Time, 72 hours per pay period, Nights

 

The Cardiac Specialty Unit consists of  33 telemetry beds. Our primary scope of service is provision of direct care to patients undergoing Cardiac Diagnostic and Interventional Procedures.

Specialized care is delivered on The Cardiac Specialty Unit to patients presenting with chest pain or unstable angina, as well as those recovering from placement of cardiac stents, permanent pacemakers, or AICDs.

The top three admitting diagnoses for 3 Riverstone are Coronary Atherosclerosis, Chest Pain, and Intermediate Coronary Syndrome. A multidisciplinary continuum of services is available to manage the patient through acute presentation, treatment, stabilization, and discharge.

A Cardiovascular Educator provides ongoing education to staff regarding numerous topics such as medications, policy and procedures, documentation, patient care and patient safety. The educator also works directly with new employees and their Clinical Coach to provide nursing orientation to the unit for a period of approximately four weeks.

 

Position Summary:  Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

 

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

 

Minimum Experience: New Graduate, within first year of orientation (move to level II after one year experience).

 

Continuing Education: Ten contract hours required annually (five hours to enhance clinical expertise).

 

 

Licensure Requirements:  Valid Tennessee RN license. Fire, safety/security, infection control and CPR inservices are required.
